Literature Text

The next morning, Etno set straight to work on a new invention; he dug out a blueprint of the original SMTV, and duplicated the same technology into a portable remote-control device. "Perfect!" he grinned in accomplishment. Luckily, for him, the other Aliens didn't know about it, so he set the dial on the portable SMTV to "Handsome Human", and transformed into a handsome human. "Well, everyone," he called before heading out the door. "I'm going for a walk."
"Looking like that???" Candy asked, noticing Etno's attractive disguise, and giving him a confused, bewildered look.
"Well, have a nice 'walk', Etno." Gorgious added, blandly.
"Isn't it too early?" Bud asked.
"Don't worry, chaps," Etno reassured them. "I'll be back in time for dinner."
"But you'll miss lunch!" Stereo reminded him.
"I'll grab something on the way." Etno replied. "I'll be back, soon!"
"Sometimes I worry about him." Candy sighed as Etno shut the door behind him.
"He could use the exercise." Bud shrugged.
"He could use the exercise?" Gorgious asked. "Look at you, Bud; you're always on your seat, watching TV!"
"You eat a lot!" Bud argued.

Once Etno was in the forest, he looked around to make sure that no other human was around. "Oh good!" he sighed in relief. "Nobody else is around; now to become my normal self, and find my lady!" So, without any hesitation, Etno turned back into his Alien self, and turned on his tracking device; the device pinged slightly, indicating that Danni was close by. The purple Alien followed the ping and he finally arrived at the secluded glen that Danni mentioned the other night, and Danni was already there, apparently rehearsing some lines.
"Etno, what an interesting name," the female scientist said in a smooth voice. "A great name; it works well with your charm. "Did it hurt when you fell from space?" she continued. "Nah, I shouldn't say that. "No, you're looking swell today," she chuckled. "You're looking good. "So, how are things going with you, handsome?" she asked.
"Oh, I'm fine, my lovely." Etno replied from behind her. "And you?"
"Oh!" Danni gasped in surprise, turning around abruptly to face the short, purple Alien. "Um, never better." The bespectacled scientist casually leaned against a pile of boulders, but the rocks started to shake a little, before toppling over; luckily, Etno pushed Danni out of the way before the boulders fell on top of them.
"You think anyone heard that?" Etno whispered.
"There's nobody else here." Danni whispered back.
"Then why are you whispering?" Etno whispered again.
"Why are you whispering?" Danni whispered again, this time in a bit of a sultry voice, making them both giggle.

"Ah, what a lovely day!" Etno sighed, breathing in the fresh air and helping Danni to her feet.
"Yeah, I wish it was always like this;" Danni added. "Just you, me, and this beautiful scenery."
"Yes, indeed, but I must offer you a confession:" Etno began. "I've only fallen in love with a human twice ever since my group and I crashed on this planet."
"Twice?" Danni asked, getting a little suspicious.
"Yes," Etno answered with a slightly depressed sigh. "But, sadly, those human females didn't really love me, at all."
"What do you mean, Etno?" Danni asked with a chuckle. "You're a swell guy!"
"Well, some women don't really appreciate males with high intellect, at all." the purple Alien sighed, lying down in the grass.
"Gee." Danni sighed back, lying down with him.

After a few seconds, Danni asked, "You know this is crazy, right?"
"Yes, indeed." Etno replied with a small sigh.
"I just never imagined that I could fall for an alien being."
"Oh, and me, a human; it's strange."
"My whole life, I've always wanted to meet an alien, and then interview it, to prove that aliens mean no harm to earthlings; so, this couldn't really work... could it?"
"Well, an Alien and a human, it just doesn't add up... does it?"

Another few quiet seconds went by, and the two stood up, and walked further into the forest, being careful not to get lost. "Hmm, and what are these?" Etno gasped, plucking a small, white dandelion from the ground.
"Those are dandelions." Danni replied.
"Dandelions?" Etno asked examining the plant closely. "Fascinating; I've never seen them like this, before."
"From what I remember," the female scientist explained. "You make a wish and then blow on it."
"Well, if you insist." the purple Alien shrugged with a smile. So Etno closed his eyes, made his wish, and blew on the dandelion, scattering its seeds in the breeze. "My, oh my!" he gasped in amazement. "It's like it's snowing!"
"So, what was your wish?" Danni asked.
"I wished that you and I could both come back here, and do this, tomorrow." Etno answered with a dreamy smile.
"Etno, nothing would please me, more." Danni sighed.
"So, should we?" Etno asked, tossing the bare dandelion stem away.
"I can do 11:30." Danni replied.
"Not soon enough." Etno sighed dreamily, taking Danni's hand in his own.

A few hours later, Etno and Danni returned to their homes with renewed happiness. "Ah..." Etno sighed dreamily, leaning against the door as he got inside.
"Have a nice walk?" Candy asked.
"I certainly did." Etno replied, changing back into his normal self.
"Must have been a long one!" Stereo gasped.
"It was, Stereo," Etno replied. "But I loved it!"
At that remark, Stereo grew suspicious; "What's he up to?" one head asked.
"Search me." the other head replied with a shrug.
Fifth chapter up, and Etno goes on his first date with Danni, but the other Aliens (except Gorgious and Bud) grow suspicious about it. Will Etno's secret be revealed? To be continued!
